Dispute over $460M Downtown development going to trial in June
A trial date for a lawsuit over a nearly half-billion-dollar Downtown development that was never built has been scheduled for June 2 in Allegheny County Common Pleas Court.
Concord Eastridge, the Arlington, Va.-based developer, is suing the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust for $32 million in damages and lost fees. The Trust hired Concord Eastridge in 2006 to develop the $460 million RiverParc development, featuring housing, a four-star hotel, parking garage and performing arts venue between Seventh and Ninth streets and Fort Duquesne Boulevard and Penn Avenue.
The Trust shelved the project in 2008 because of adverse economic conditions and dumped Concord Eastridge as developer. The trial was scheduled for March before being postponed.
