Woodruff 5K
The 23rd annual John Woodruff 5K Run & Walk will be held at 7 p.m., July 6. A kids fun run will begin at 6 p.m. The race will begin at Connellsville Stadium. Registration is $15 if mailed by July 2 and $18 from July 4-6. The cost for high school track members is $10 with a coaches signature. Booster sign-ups
The Connellsville Booster Football League will hold sign-ups on Saturday, at the following times and locations: South Connellsville, 11 a.m.-noon at the South Connellsville playground; Bullskin, 10 a.m. to noon at the Bullskin Municipal Building; Tri-Town, 11 a.m.-noon at the Vanderbilt playground; Dunbar, 9 a.m.-noon at the Junior High West stadium; and East End, 10 a.m.-noon at the Zachariah Connell playground.

Physicals
Physical dates for the Connellsville fall sports season will be given at the senior high nurse's office. Boys sports physicals will be given on July 27. The times are: Junior High East and West cross country (8:30 a.m.), boys cross country (8:30 a.m.), golf (8:45 a.m.), soccer (9 a.m.), Junior High East and West boys soccer (9:20 a.m.), Junior High East football (9:40 a.m.), Junior High West football (10 a.m.) and senior high football (10:30 a.m.).
Girls sports physicals will be given on Aug. 3. The times are: Junior High East and West cross country (8:30 a.m.), cross country (8:30 a.m.), tennis (8:40 a.m.), volleyball, including ninth graders (8:50 a.m.), soccer (9 a.m.), Junior High East and West basketball (9:20 a.m.), Junior High East and West soccer (9:20 a.m.).
Football make-ups will be given at 9:45 a.m. on Aug. 3. If these dates are missed, an athlete will have to go to their own doctor. Forms can be picked up at the junior high and senior high offices.

Basketball school

Geibel camp
The Geibel girls basketball team will be conducting a camp from 8 a.m.-noon, July 18-22 at Geibel. Brochures are available at the school or by calling Patrick Klocek at 724-547-3428. Fast-pitch tryouts
Tryouts for a girls fast-pitch softball tournament team will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday at East Park. Girls who were ages 8-10 as of January 1, 2005, are eligible for the team. Each player must bring a copy of her birth certificate. For more information, call 724-322-6544.

The Fayette Firebirds Youth Hockey Association is seeking players for the fall season. Boys and girls ages 19 and younger are eligible. Chamber outing
The Westmoreland Chamber of Commerce will sponsor the second annual Chamber Challenge Golf Tournament. The event is July 18-25 and proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society, with the funds to stay in Westmoreland County. In order to participate, simply challenge a playing partner for an agreed sum of money. The loser makes the donation. Cherry Creek Golf Course, Glengarry Golf Links, Greensburg Country Club, Meadowink Golf Club and Valley Green Golf and Country Club have agreed to allow participants to play their round of golf free of charge as long as donations are registered. The grand finale will be held at Totteridge Golf Course on July 25. The cost to play Totteridge is $190 per person, which includes meals, golf, prizes, gift, caddie and entertainment. Frick outing
