Donegal Borough adopts budget with no tax hike

Donegal Borough council recently adopted its 2016 budget, which does not include a property tax increase for residents, according to Patty Kerr, the elected governmental body's secretary treasurer.

The $40,900 spending plan is balanced with $28,980 in projected revenue and $10,700 in liquid fuel revenue, and additional interest, she said.

In 2016, council will hold its monthly meetings at 7 p.m. the first Tuesday of every month at 211 Water St. in the borough, Kerr said.

Meeting dates will be Jan. 5, Feb. 2, March 1, April 5, May 3, June 7, July 5, Aug. 2, Sept. 6, Oct. 4, Nov. 1 and Dec. 6, she said.

If meetings are canceled due to weather, makeup meetings will be held the following Tuesday, unless otherwise advertised, Kerr said.

Those seeking additional information can call the borough office at 724-593-6222.
