About 300 customers in Dormont are without water this morning and a school closed after a Penn American Water main broke on McNeilly Road about midnight.

Penn American workers capped the leak, which occurred across the street from Seton-La Salle High School in the 1000 block of McNeilly, and hope to have service repaired sometime after 6 p.m., spokesman Gary Lobaugh said.

Seton-La Salle will be closed today, according to the school's Web site.

No cause for the break has been determined, Lobaugh said.

"I don't want to speculate," he said. "It could be the change in temperature. It could be a number of factors."

A water buffalo is available at Keystone Oaks High School, which remains open, for those without water, Lobaugh said.

Keystone Oaks and Seton-La Salle high schools are tied to different water mains, he said.
