'Dreamscapes' extended at 64 Crayons
Fred Lapisardi, proprietor of Geezers' Literary Book Shop & 64 Crayons Cultural Center, located on the third floor of the Thompson House, 815 Water St., Brownsville, announced the schedule of events for August.
The book shop's regular Tuesday evening writing workshops will not meet again until September. For August, workshops will move to Saturday, with sessions 3-5:30 p.m. Subject matter and genre are the writer's choice. Lapisardi remains available for editing and discussions.
August hours for Geezers' change accordingly to: Tuesday through Friday, noon-3:30 p.m. and Saturdays, 3-8 p.m. The center will be open by appointment for other hours.
64 Crayons has extended Rachel Lloyd's exhibit of "Dreamscapes: Pencil and Paint on Glass" through Aug. 15.
The new art show for mid-August through September will be "Jennifer: A Portrait in Flowers," featuring traditional art forms plus creative photography by the late Jennifer A. Lapisardi whose work won several awards in New York state and elsewhere.
The new show will extend beyond the Thompson House ballroom. Pictures will hang all through the third floor. Regular hours for 64 Crayons are noon-3:30 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays, and Saturdays, 3:30-8 p.m.
The Curiosity Shoppes, sponsored by 64 Crayons Cultural Center and Thompson House, may be visited on the second floor of the former Samuel Thompson Mansion on Saturdays from 4-8 p.m.
