A Spring Garden man has been sentenced to 20 years in prison followed by 10 years of supervised release for violating federal drug laws.

Michael Mendoza, 36, of Province Street was convicted of charges of conspiracy and possession with intent to distribute more than 5 kilograms of cocaine between May 2005 and January 2006.

City police and federal Drug Enforcement Administration agents conducted the investigation.
