Bill Clark signed a national letter of intent Tuesday to play basketball at Duquesne University, saying the Atlantic 10 Conference school is "the perfect fit" for him.
Clark, a 6-foot-5, 200-pound wing player who averaged 20.5 points last season for Worcester (Mass.) Academy, gave Duquesne coach Ron Everhart a verbal commitment on April 24. He becomes the third player to sign with the Dukes for next season, joining 6-8 forwards Jovon Moses, from Genesis One (Miss.) Christian Academy, and Vincentian Aacademy product David Theis, from Mercersburg Academy in Franklin County.
Worcester Academy is the same school that produced current Duquesne guard Aaron Jackson.
"We connected right away," Clark said of Jackson, who led Duquesne in assists (3.8 apg.) and was third in scoring (11.0 ppg.). "I've watched the Atlantic 10 and I'm familiar with Duquesne. It's a good fit for me. When I visited there, the players showed me a lot of love."
Clark, a native of Los Angeles, chose Duquesne over a host of other schools, including Atlantic 10 counterpart Saint Joseph's, Big East Conference member Providence and Big Ten Conference member Minnesota.
