Samantha Pollino scored 20 points and Keri Pryor added 12 to lead the Duquesne University women's basketball team to a 69-63 victory over Fordham today in New York, the Dukes' third consecutive win and fourth in five games.
Duquesne (13-5, 3-0) is off to its best Atlantic 10 Conference start in 12 years.
Fordham (6-12, 0-3), which was led by Kristina Bell's 15 points, has lost nine consecutive games.
Duquesne missed seven of its first eight shots and trailed, 16-5, before rallying to take a 29-28 halftime lead. Fordham went ahead, 56-55, with 6:01 remaining before Duquesne used a 9-0 run to take the lead for good.
Duquesne entertains Massachusetts on Wednesday night at Palumbo Center.
