East Liberty Target store to open Wedneday

Target's first urban Pittsburgh store will open on Wednesday at 6231 Penn Ave.

The new building includes first floor parking, with the store on the second level. Escalators and stairs lead to the retail area.

The store will be one of only 15 nationwide with that format, and it will feature fresh produce and frozen meats. Target said a grand opening event for the store will be July 24.
