Thomas P. Hassall Residence: Monroeville Education: Graduate of Wilkinsburg High School; bachelor’s degree in education and a master’s degree in counseling from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Background: Hassall has spent his professional life working in education. He taught in the Franklin Regional School District for several years before going to Greensburg Salem School District, where he has worked for 25 years. He is a counselor at the senior high school. Noteworthy: Hassall was unanimously re-elected vice chairman of the Pennsylvania Public School Employees Retirement System Board of Trustees at its annual organizational meeting this month. He will serve in the position on the 15-member board, along with Board Chairwoman Barbara Hafer, who was elected at the same meeting. Hassall was first elected to the board in 1996 as a representative of the active certified school employees. He is serving his third three-year term.
