Congratulations to Elderton High School on another award, this time in scholastics. How nice that Superintendent William Kerr is proud of your school considering the school board's actions in the past.

Last year you had a student who became the WPIAL champion wrestler. The band has won many prizes and awards, and its members have another invitation to Walt Disney World -- not just to sightsee but to perform for thousands of people.

I'd say that's something to be proud of since you have been referred to as too small and the decision made to close you up.

It is hard to believe that the board sees Elderton as a waste. Too bad none of the board members heard the Christmas band concert last week. What a great evening. The junior high band members were so proud. I'm sure they would love to become members of the senior high band.

This is the season of miracles. Maybe the school can still be saved.

God bless the students and their teachers.
