Allegheny County Fire Marshal's Office said a fire in a three-story McKeesport house Sunday night was caused by an electrical problem.
The office said Monday that damage is estimated at $25,000 from the two-alarm fire in the 1200 block of Meadow Street.
The fire was discovered in the attic around 10:40 p.m. and brought under control in about half an hour.
City firefighters were assisted by a rapid intervention team from Glassport and volunteer companies from Glassport, White Oak No. 1 and West Mifflin No. 2 in Duquesne Annex.
There were no injuries reported in the fire, nor in a Saturday night blaze at a two-story house in the 800 block of Soles Street in McKeesport.
There were early reports of entrapment but firefighters found no one in the house.
Glassport assisted, as did the Duquesne Annex crews, who brought their air bottle-filling truck with them.
The Soles Street fire broke out as the city's annual Independence Day fireworks show was ending at Renziehausen Park.
City fire officials could not be reached for details late Monday, but firefighters at the scene reportedly experienced water problems.
According to the International Association of Fire Fighters Local 10 Facebook page, the bulk of Saturday's fire “was quickly knocked down from the exterior on tank water while addressing a hydrant problem that delayed the water supply.”
The fire marshal's office is investigating.
A spokesman for the American Red Cross of Southwestern Pennsylvania said it has not received any requests for assistance.
