Elementary wrestling

Connellsville Elementary wrestling sign-ups will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Oct. 8, 9 and 16 at Junior High East. Boys in grades 1 through 6 are encouraged to join the team. Registration is $25 for the first child and $15 for the second in a family. Registration for the third child is free. For more information, call Michele at 724-542-2971 or Jodi at 724-626-0867.

Pechin 5K

The Pechin Shopping Village 5K Run/Walk will be held at 8 a.m. on Saturday at the Dunbar Volunteer Fire Department. The cost is $13 prior to the day of the race and $15 on race day. T-shirts are guaranteed to those who pre-register. Make checks payable to Pechin 5K Run/Walk Dunbar Community Fest, c/o Cindy Moag, 106 Friendship Lane, Dunbar, Pa., 15431. St. Rita’s hoops

The St. Rita’s Youth Basketball Association will be holding registration for boys and girls in preschool (four years old by Sept. 1) through eighth grade at Connellsville Junior High East on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:30 to 7 p.m. beginning on Oct. 6. CAHS tickets

Tickets for Connellsville’s football game at home against Pittsburgh Central Catholic will be sold in the high school athletic office on Friday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Reserve tickets cost $4 and student tickets cost $2. Tickets for students are sold in all the district schools. No student tickets are sold at the gate. General admission tickets cost $3 and are sold only at the gate. Gates open at 6 p.m.

Trap shoot

East Huntingdon Sportsmen’s Association will hold a memorial trap shoot tonight. Sign-ups will be from 5 to 7:30 p.m. The costs are $8 (50 bird/16 yard), $2 (high gun option) and $4 (Lewis Class option). Prizes will be awarded.

Punt, Pass & Kick

The Uniontown Knights of Columbus will host an NFL Punt, Pass & Kick competition at the South Union Township soccer field on Saturday at 11 a.m. All competing children are asked to register at 10 a.m. For more information, call Tony Bartock at 724-322-1278.
