Note to Donald Trump: George Washington said that “the foolish and wicked practice of profane cursing and swearing is a vice so mean and low ... that every person of sense and character detests and despises it.”

My father, Ted Kondrich, served as a Plum Borough councilman and a state legislator. He is a public servant and a gentleman. During my 54 years on this Earth, I have never once heard him swear or use profanity — even when he was angry at me or my siblings or passionate about a political issue.

And guess what? My father always makes his point with conviction, eloquence and grace.
