Engineering, science instructor fills Carnegie Science Center post

Jason Brown, who taught engineering and science at Propel Braddock Hills High School, has been named director of science and education at the Carnegie Science Center.

He will oversee and manage innovative science education programs designed to encourage students to consider careers in science, technology, engineering and math, according to a news release from the center on Monday.

Brown taught construction technology and management at the State University of New York at Delhi prior to moving to Pittsburgh.

A native of upstate New York, Brown holds a master's degree in business administration and a master's certificate in educational techology and new literacies from the State University of New York at Buffalo. Brown has taught classes in private, public and alternative education and has experience owning and managing businesses.
