Ex-Cranberry EMS director pleads guilty in sex assault case
A former Cranberry EMS executive director will be sentenced Dec. 13 after he pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting a 19-year-old man last year.
Steve F. Tedesco Jr., 31, pleaded guilty Friday before Butler County Judge Timothy McCune to a single count of indecent assault of an unconscious person, according to online court records. He had been scheduled to stand trial later this month.
Acording to a court affidavit, Evans City police accused Tedesco of sexually assaulting the man during a party in the borough in March 2011. Prosecutors also charged Tedesco with providing the man and two other underage males with alcohol, but those charges, along with other sexual assault offenses, were dismissed as part of the plea agreement.
Before he is sentenced, McCune ruled, Tedesco must undergo an evaluation to determine whether he should be considered a sexual predator.
Cranberry hired Tedesco as its EMS leader in 2010 after a national search.
