Express E-ZPass lanes to close briefly at Route 43 on turnpike

Express E-ZPass lanes on the Pennsylvania Turnpike's Route 43 will be closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday.

The closure will be at the high-speed toll plaza between Exit 48 Finleyville and Exit 54 Route 51/Jefferson Hills in Allegheny County, officials said. E-ZPass customers still can pay electronically via the conventional E-ZPass lanes on the right side of the plaza. The conventional E-ZPass lanes have a 5 mph speed limit.

Crews will perform emergency maintenance work on the electronic toll equipment.
