Facebook account violates Plum man's probation

Allegheny County sheriff's deputies last night arrested a man accused of violating his probation by having a Facebook account.

Prakash Akut, 65, of Plum was on probation after pleading guilty to inappropriately touching a minor, a release from the sheriff's office said.

One of the conditions of his probation was that Akut was not allowed to possess or use a computer, but a probation officer discovered Akut had an active Facebook account on Thursday, the release said.

A bench warrant was issued for his arrest and deputies apprehended Akut at his apartment. He was lodged in the Allegheny County Jail.
