Fairy Grace brings colorful worlds to life
Face painting, balloon twisting and general entertaining is the business of Fairy Grace Entertainment.
The company first opened in 2011 and in April 2013 it was moved into Fort Pitt Commons on Harrison Avenue in Jeannette. The advantage to the Fort Pitt Commons location is that the company now has a place to hold parties and events.
Fairy Grace Entertainment is owned by Melissa Tillman, a former Jeannette resident who currently resides in Trafford. Tillman's background is in acting and modeling, and she worked with the Talent Group in Pittsburgh.
The company has about 27 entertainers on call who do things like face painting, balloon twisting, airbrush tattoos, storytelling and creating caricatures.
Balloon twisters use various sizes of balloons and twist them into animal shapes, generally passing them out to children at parties or events.
Fairy Grace Entertainment has provided balloon twisting at Shop and Save on Route 66 and Z&M Cycle.
Fairy Grace Entertainment provides a variety of parties for customers. Entertainers can either visit a customer's home, or various theme parties are offered at its location.
Themes include princess parties, fairy parties, superhero parties, rock star or diva parties, and red and blue team parties. Dressing up in costumes provided by Fairy Grace is part of the fun.
All participants get an official certificate with the name of the Princess, Fairy, Rock Star, Diva or Superhero and a chance to “strut their stuff” on the catwalk.
The catwalk is a favorite with parents because of the photo opportunities.
“Parents just love it,” said Tillman. “Everybody's gorgeous and everybody can have fun.”
In addition to parties, Fairy Grace Entertainment offers craft time on Tuesday, Friday and Saturday. Classes are available for adults, children and teens. A different craft is completed weekly.
“We really, really promote creativity,” said Tillman. “We love what we do.”
Tillman likes working with children.
“Jeannette has a lot to offer and I have a lot of friends here. I like to help customers escape from their everyday life and have fun, while giving the kids more confidence and enriching their lives.”
