A fake email appearing to reference upcoming court cases sent to some Pennsylvania residents could contain a malicious virus and should be deleted, Steve Schell, a spokesman for the Administrative Office of Pennsylvania Courts, said Friday.
“Pennsylvania courts do not send court orders through email,” Schell said.
Any such correspondence goes through the U.S. Postal Service, he said.
Someone in York County reported a fake email Thursday that appeared to mimic one seen in Washington County earlier this year, Schell said.
