The Connellsville wrestling team had a productive weekend at the Battlefield Duals in Alexandria, Va. The Falcons finished with a 6-2 record at the two-day tournament, which was good enough for fifth place in the 14-team field. Connellsville beat Westfield (39-19), Robinson (34-6), Berwick (50-23) and Sachem-North (55-7). The Falcons also earned placement-round wins over Waynesburg (43-24) and Hayfield (38-30). Connellsville’s only losses came to tournament champion Great Bridge (41-10) and second-place Christianburg (47-17). Girls Basketball Highlands 59, Connellsville 40 Erica Bartholow scored 14 points, but the Lady Falcons couldn’t overcome a slow start and lost to visiting Highlands on Saturday in a nonsection game. Monica Faris netted eight points for the Lady Falcons (2-12). Courtney Kordes tallied 15 points to lead Highlands.
