"Star Trek" fans have a plan to try to save "Star Trek: Enterprise" from cancellation.
Tim Brazeal, founder of SaveEnterprise.com, said his Web site -- along with EnterpriseFans.com -- raised funds for a full-page ad in Tuesday's Los Angeles Times, inviting fans to rally outside Paramount Studios on Feb. 25, to protest the show's cancellation.
UPN and Paramount Network Television announced earlier this month that "Star Trek: Enterprise" will end a four-year run on UPN on May 13. A prequel to the original "Star Trek" series, "Star Trek: Enterprise" premiered on UPN Sept. 26, 2001 and earned four Emmy Awards.
Paramount Network Television President David Stapf left the door open for more "Star Trek" series.
"All of us at Paramount warmly bid goodbye to 'Enterprise,'" he said, "and we all look forward to a new chapter of this enduring franchise in the future."
In January, Paramount Domestic Television sold re-run rights for off-network syndication in more than 90 percent of the country, including 49 of the 50 top markets. The show is set to begin its syndication run this fall.
