Farmers Insurance said it will be hiring and training agents at its office in Robinson this summer for its first Pittsburgh area office.

Farmers said it expects to create 100 to 400 jobs in Pittsburgh and surrounding communities by the end of this year, and more than 500 jobs within five years.

New employees will receive insurance industry training through University of Farmers, an initiative that trains agents in all aspects of insurance.
