Citiparks Farmers Markets, a project of the City of Pittsburgh's Department of Parks and Recreation, has opened a new location in Mt. Washington. The market, just two blocks south of Grandview Avenue on Sweetbriar Street in the old Giant Eagle parking lot, will operate from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesdays through November. Seasonal produce, bedding plants, greens and flowers will be available. Here is the complete list of the Citiparks markets : Mondays : East Liberty at Penn Circle West next to McDonald's, 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesdays : South Side, 18th and East Carson streets; and Mt. Washington, two blocks south of Grandview Avenue on Sweetbriar Street in the old Giant Eagle Parking lot; both open 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesdays : Carrick, behind the Carrick Shopping Center at Brownsville Road and Parkfield Street, 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursdays : Highland Park, Pittsburgh Zoo, lower parking lot, 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. Fridays : Noontime Farmers Market in front of the City-County Building, Downtown, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.; North Side at East Park, across from the main entrance of Allegheny General Hospital at Cedar Avenue, 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. Details: (412) 422-6523.
