A Fayette County man who shot and killed a man in a dispute over a DVD player was sentenced to 20 to 40 years in prison Friday, the maximum allowable sentence for the third-degree murder conviction. Brandon Lee Duncan, 18, of the Bierer Wood Acres public housing project in South Union Township, was convicted earlier this month in the death of 26-year-old Gregory Delbridge on Sept. 16 in a parking lot of the Furlong Court section of the housing plan. Duncan's defense attorney, Mark Morrison of Uniontown, said the defendant is considering an appeal. At trial, prosecutors were seeking a first-degree conviction, but witnesses testified that Delbridge was moving toward Duncan in a threatening manner when the shots were fired. Duncan also testified that the shooting was in self-defense. Duncan was arrested in Youngstown, Ohio, after fleeing the scene. A jury of seven men and five women took just two hours on June 7 to reach a verdict.
