Criminal charges against a second man accused of using Craigslist ads to lure people to Uniontown to be robbed have been dismissed but likely will be refiled, according to a prosecutor.
Charges of conspiracy, robbery, theft, aggravated assault, terroristic threats and reckless endangerment filed against Xavier Thomas, of 217 Union St., Uniontown, were withdrawn when a witness failed to appear for a preliminary hearing, said Assistant District Attorney J.W. Eddy.
Eddy said the charges likely will be filed again once the witness is contacted.
Earlier, charges against a another defendant, Ishmael DeShields, 18, of 53 Varndell St., Uniontown, were withdrawn when the victim in that alleged incident did not appear for a preliminary hearing. Charges are expected to be refiled, Eddy said.
Two other Uniontown men, Roy Johnson Jr. of 138 Searight Ave. and Warare Wilkerson of 68 Pershing Court were held for trial on charges of conspiracy and reckless endangerment following preliminary hearings.
A fifth man, Kyle Bass, 18, of Uniontown, is wanted on an arrest warrant.
