An Export woman is in the Westmoreland County jail on charges stemming from an argument Sunday morning over scrambled eggs.

Anamarie Cathrine Henderson, 26, was arrested Sunday on charges of simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct. She was arraigned yesterday before Washington Township District Judge Elise Glenn with bond set at $10,000.

State police at Kiski Valley said an argument ensued between Henderson and her mother, Theresa M. Mele, shortly before 10 a.m. at the mother’s home in Salem. At issue was who would cook scrambled eggs for Henderson’s two young children. Police said the argument escalated into a physical confrontation between the two.

Henderson allegedly grabbed a knife from the kitchen sink and swung it one time, striking her mother on the left wrist, resulting in a minor cut.

A preliminary hearing for Henderson is scheduled Sept. 13 before Dennis.
