A Monroeville man died shortly after a fire at the Eagle Ridge Apartments in Monroeville yesterday morning, according to the Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office.

The fire occurred in the Eagle Ridge Drive apartment of John W. Wilson, 61, officials said. Wilson was taken to UPMC Mercy, Uptown, where he was pronounced dead at 6:18 a.m., according to the medical examiner's office.

An investigation of the fire is ongoing. The cause and manner of Wilson's death are still to be determined.
