Robinson Township Giant Eagle is planning to enlarge a gas station planned for its Robinson Crossroads location on Steubenville Pike. The supermarket chain is seeking township approval to change its approved site plan to increase the number of fuel stations from six to eight. The township's planning commission has recommended approval of the change, and commissioners may vote on the request at their meeting Monday. Giant Eagle representatives did not return calls for comment. The store would be the third Giant Eagle in the county to have a gas station. The company operated two gas stations in Ohio for about a year before opening its first in western Pennsylvania at its Ohio Township store near the Camp Horne Road interchange with Interstate 279. The second gas station was placed at a Giant Eagle that opened in Penn Hills in May.
