A fire in West Deer on Wednesday evening left a family displaced after their home was destroyed, fire department officials said.

Adam Williams, chief of the West Deer Volunteer Fire Department No. 2, said fire crews arrived at the home at 48 Quigley Road around 7:18 p.m. to find a fully involved structure fire.

The cause of the fire still under investigation Thursday, Williams said, but preliminary findings indicate the blaze started near the home’s gas fireplace.

The residents weren’t home, and Williams could not say where they were staying now.

No one was injured.
