A Wednesday afternoon fire destroyed a trailer at 370 Silvis Hollow Road in Kittanning Township.

Firefighters believe the fire started in the trailer's furnace room, said Township Fire Capt. Kevin Good.

“There's a lot of charring around the furnace, and the trailer went up very quickly,” Good said. “It looks like it was an accidental fire, and it was a total loss.”

Trailer owner David Omaska, 28, said he wasn't home when the fire started, but he has yet to find his cat, Booker. He lived alone in the trailer for less than a year. Omaska said he had insurance, which should cover all the damage.

“At least everyone is safe,” Omaska said.

Crews from Kittanning Township, Kittanning, East Franklin, Manor and Rayburn helped fight the fire.
