An early-morning fire Friday in Liberty killed one person.

The fire was reported about 5:30 a.m. on Liberty Way, an emergency dispatch supervisor said. Firefighters found the body of Henry Campbell in the garage behind his home.

The Allegheny County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire. The American Red Cross is assisting two adults and two children affected by the fire, said spokeswoman Lauren Chapman.

The garage served as the shop for Campbell’s business, Katelyn Electrical Services. Campbell’s age wasn’t known.

Les Raszewski, who lives nearby, said Campbell was hard-working and generous.

“He was always in his (work) truck,” Raszewski said. “If you had a fuse box that was messed up, he’d come up and look at it and wouldn’t charge you.”

Karen Holland, who owns Liberty Dairy Store, said Campbell was a regular customer.

“He always came in and got his cigarettes. He liked Coke in the old-time (glass) bottles,” she said.
