Pittsburgh firefighters battled a fire that severely damaged a vacant house in the city’s Beltzhoover neighborhood Wednesday afternoon.
The one-alarm fire was reported just before 5 p.m. by someone who noticed flames coming from the back of the three-story wood and brick house in the 700 block of Delmont.
Allegheny County 911 supervisors said the house appeared to have been vacant, with no occupants or injuries. The house stood almost alone on its block of Delmont, with large lawns or empty lots separating it from its nearest neighbors. The blaze was declared under control about 5:30 p.m.
