North Belle Vernon firefighters extinguished a fire that rekindled in a home at 401 Baltimore St. around 10:30 a.m. Saturday.
Firefighters were trying to preserve the building until a state police fire marshal could investigate the blaze, which initially began 3:30 a.m. Friday, but were forced to cut a hole in the structure to get to the blaze, which repeatedly rekindled.
Firefighters from Rostraver Central, Collinsburg, Belle Vernon and Washington Township also responded, with Smithton firefighters on standby at the North Belle Vernon station.
