Firemen’s Association will hold its annual training next month

MANOR -- The Armstrong County Firemen's association will hold its annual fire school training from Aug. 23 through 26. Association officials said a Junior Firefighters Weekend will be held Sept. 18 and 19 for youth ages 13 through 16. Junior firefighters will learn basic fire fighting science and search and rescue techniques Applications will be available at local volunteer fire departments throughout the county.

Association member and former president Earl "Buzz" Kline said tickets for the Association's monthly cash raffles are now available in a number of area businesses throughout the county. Businesses will have signs in their window announcing ticket availability. Kline said tickets are $1 and are also available from local fire company members.

Kline said that in addition to buying tickets individuals or businesses may make a voluntary donation to the Association by sending a check or money order payable to the Armstrong County Firemen's Association, to: John Johnson, Treasurer, 363 Franklin St., Kittanning, Pa. 16201.
