FirstEnergy Corp. said Thursday its redesigned electric bill will be easier for customers to read, provide more streamlined account information and save nearly 15 million sheets of paper a year.

The new bills fit on a single page, and will debut in April for all customers including those in West Penn Power territory.

Akron-based FirstEnergy acquired Allegheny Energy Inc. last year and restored the utility's West Penn name. West Penn customers will get new account numbers that allow them to manage accounts online. All FirstEnergy customers can go paperless with the "eBill" option. Details, go to f irstenergycorp.com/UnderstandYourBill .
