How dare the Trib print on its April 23 editorial page a cartoon of the U.S. flag at half-mast with purple strips and a symbol for the recently deceased Prince on the flagstaff. Our flag is sacred and that cartoon is an insult to all who have bravely fought for our freedom and those honoring our country. For all of our fathers, mothers, sons, daughters, spouses, cousins and friends who fought so hard and at such great sacrifice, this defacing of our flag is just so wrong. Not only is it appalling but it goes to show one of the things wrong with this country — how it glorifies narcissistic pop stars and celebrities instead of true heroes.
Such a terrible message to send to the young impressionable minds of our youth. It makes me sick.
