The campaign of Allegheny County Controller candidate Mark Patrick Flaherty spent nearly $60,000 on television ads that will air on KDKA, WTAE and WPXI, according to documents made public Friday by the Federal Communications Commission.

Flaherty, 53, of Mt. Lebanon started running TV ads Friday.

He is challenging Allegheny County Controller Chelsa Wagner, 37, of Point Breeze for her seat. Wagner's campaign said it will air TV ads soon.

Flaherty's ads will run until May 4 during NBC's “Today Show,” WPXI's morning newscasts, ABC's “Good Morning America,” “This Week with George Stephanopoulos” and WTAE morning and evening newscasts. KDKA information was not yet available.

Flaherty spent $17,750 on WPXI ads, $13,608 on WTAE ads and $27,808 on KDKA ads. The campaign also paid for ads on cable television stations but won't say how much.
