GOOD MOVE The Western Pennsylvania Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society welcomed country singer Julie Roberts (pictured) as it’s guest speaker during the 12th annual Women on the Move luncheon. Now in it’s 12th year, the event was held at LeMont on September 22. Amongst the 200 attending were chapter prexy Anne Mageras, co-chairs Joan Campasano Hoover and Nancy Weiland, Sandra Bettor, and Roseanne Wholey.

FAREWELL PARTY “It’s always a little bittersweet. And this one was a little extra,” said Quantum Theatre artistic director Karla Boos during A Farewell to Tamara, the send-off party for 'Tamara,' which proved to be one of QT’s biggest undertakings in size and complexity. Held at the Shadyside manse of Trevor and Toni MacPherson on Sept. 24, other guests included director John Shepard, actors Robert Turano, Tammy Tsai and Cathryn Dylan (pictured), board prexy Mary Murrin, AJ Drexler, Buck and Lisa Favorini, and Loretta Stanish.

THE NEXT CHAPTER: “You know when you walk into a house and it just feels like home?” prexy Debie Carbeau (right) said as 100 guests filtered into the Zelienople Public Library for Book the Night. “I hope it signifies a safe place and that they feel comfortable.” That vibe proved effortless Sept. 25 as guests including Carolyn Skillman (left), Kathy Voltz (center), John and Petra Beck, and Michelle Beitko came out to support this community treasure. Home to more than 30,000 items as well as a darling and cozy children’s section, the facility is looking forward to an expansion project focused on technology and accessibility.

STEEL CITY SULLY Four year-old Sully Rossmiller was the man of the hour Sept. 26 as guests arrived en masse to celebrate the unveiling of the newest addition to the Just Ducky Tours. Christened Steel City Sully, the authentic WWII vehicle was named in his honor as a symbol of strength and courage of those living with Spinal Muscular Atrophy. ART ON FIRE Dave and Mary Beth Johnson (pictured) were among the guests of the Pittsburgh Glass Center’s Art on Fire celebration on September 26. Held at the American Eagle Outfitters headquarters in the South Side Works, the event featured over 100 one-of-a-kind pieces from renowned and local glass artists. Also attending were event co-chairs Cynthia Pierce Liefeld and Paul Liefeld and honorary glass artist Jay Macdonell from Victoria, British Columbia.

ROLLS WITH IT Rolls Royce Motor Cars and Collection Motor Sports was to blame for the collective sigh being heard at Cavo in the Strip District on September 27. There, guests were taken back to the Roaring Twenties for The Gatsby Gala, a benefit for the Make a Wish Foundation. Included in the champagne celebration were the latest models by Rolls Royce.
