A Florida girl born without a face has undergone 14 surgeries and will need many more operations, USA Today reported Wednesday.

"She has no upper jaw, no cheek bones, no eye sockets, and she's missing the corner of her ear," her father, Tom Wetmore, said of his daughter, Juliana.

The birth defect caused by Treacher Collins Syndrome is the worst doctors have ever seen, the newspaper said.

Juliana, born nearly two years ago, is missing up to 40 percent of her facial bones. She eats and breathes through tubes.

Her mother, Tammy, said she wishes people would ask questions rather than stare.

"I guess the most hurtful thing came not long ago," she said. "A little girl said she was disgusting."
