Ford City skates past Burrell

WEST KITTANNING -- The Ford City hockey team used a five-goal second period to key a 9-1 victory over Burrell on Thursday at Belmont Ice Complex.

Sophomore Cameron Coccia led Ford City (5-0) with a four-point night, scoring on a goal and three assists. Tanner Master, R.C. Double and Kevin Valasek each scored a pair of goals.

The Sabers lead Section 4 of the Open Division by eight points.

E.J. Stepano scored the game's first goal for Burrell (0-5).

Freeport 2, Knoch 1 (OT)

In West Kittanning, senior John Reichenbaugh scored in overtime to lift Freeport to a win over Knoch in a PIHL Section 3-A game at the Belmont Ice Complex.

The Yellowjackets evened their record at 3-3 behind 42 saves from goaltender Cody Lee.

Freeport's Shane Gallagher and Neal Donnely of Knoch (2-3) traded goals in regulation.
