Bob Ford matched his opening-round score with a 1-under-par 71 Friday in the second round of the PGA Club Professional Championship in Nashport, Ohio.
Ford had three birdies and two bogeys and is in a nine-way tie for 17th place heading into the weekend at Longaberger Golf Club.
The top 25 players qualify for the PGA Championship to be played Aug. 12-15 at Whistling Straits in Kohler, Wis.
Ford, 50, is the head professional at Oakmont Country Club and Seminole Golf Club in North Palm Beach, Fla.
On Thursday, Ford made four birdies that propelled him into a tie for third place, but made bogey at 17 and 18 to finish tied for 19th.
Sean Farren of Oakmont was 11-over after rounds of 78-77.
Jeff Coston of Blaine, Wash., jumped six spots to take the lead after an 8-under 64 Friday. He is 10 under, three shots ahead of Bob Sowards and Robert Thompson.
