The prosecutor in the Essex, England drug trial of former Bay City Rollers frontman Les McKeown says the singer will fight the charges against him.

McKeown only confirmed his personal information during a brief hearing at Chelmsford Crown Court Wednesday, but Prosecutor Lucy Luttman told the court "there has been an indication of not guilty in this case," the Scotsman reported.

McKeown, 49, is charged with conspiring with four other people to supply 495 grams of cocaine.

Judge Michael Kay set the next hearing in the case for Oct. 10.
