EL PASO, Texas - Kevin Belcher, a former New York Giants offensive lineman, is dead at age 42.

He died Saturday at his home in El Paso. The cause of death was undetermined, his brother, Darius, said.

Kevin Belcher was drafted by the Giants in 1983 and played two seasons before his pro career ended when he was injured in a 1985 car accident. Belcher severed a nerve in his leg and had internal injuries, his brother said.

Belcher, who played college football at Texas-El Paso, owned several businesses in the area and in Detroit, where he was born.
