Former Carnegie Mellon University professor Jeffrey Hunker was arrested for drunken driving Thanksgiving night in Shadyside, police said, a little more than a year after being arrested for the same offense three times in eight days.
Hunker, 52, hit at least one car about 7 p.m. near his Shady Avenue home, police said. Nobody was hurt.
Police towed his car from Walnut Street and South Aiken Avenue in Shadyside, about a mile from his house.
Common Pleas Judge Anthony M. Mariani called Hunker "a danger to the community" in August 2008, but declined to put him in jail when Hunker opted to check into a Virginia rehabilitation center. Hunker was getting the treatment he needed, his attorney James Cirilano said at the time.
Hunker was an adjunct faculty professor of technology and policy at the H. John Heinz III School of Public Policy and Management at the time of the initial arrests.
Though a faculty page still exists on the university's Web site, Hunker's directory entry there says he is no longer affiliated with Carnegie Mellon.
CMU representatives could not be reached for comment. It was unclear whether Cirilano still represents Hunker. Cirilano could not be reached for comment.
Hunker has a trial scheduled for Feb. 17 on the first three DUI cases, according to court records.
