A distribution center in Pittsburgh's Chartiers area that was operated by the closed Roomful Express furniture chain is facing sheriff's sale on June 6.

The sale follows the closing of Roomful Express' 13 stores in Western Pennsylvania and eastern Ohio on March 6, triggered by the failure of Roomful Express to repay $18.8 million to PNC Bank.

PNC also filed for foreclosure on the distribution center because of that debt. The warehouse is located at 2250 Roswell Drive.

R. H. Kuhn Co. Inc. of Crafton, which was Roomful Express' parent company, and nine other legal entities are listed as defendants, including Chartiers Eagle Management LLC.

Two Ashley Furniture stores Roomful Express operated in the Altoona and Johnstown area are scheduled to reopen next month, but under new ownership.

Tim Quinn, a principal with Ashley Furniture store in western New York, has taken over ownership of the two stores, said Bob Butter, a spokesman for Compass Advisory Partners, a Pittsburgh management consulting firm, named as the court-appointed receiver that oversaw the liquidation of the Roomful Express stores.
