The owner of the Fore Seasons Restaurant on a New Jersey golf course says it's just coincidence that its name sounds like Manhattan's upscale Four Seasons.

"I named the restaurant 'Fore' because it's on a golf course and 'Seasons' because you season food," Johnny Marrone told the New York Post. "I never professed to be associated with the Four Seasons in New York."

Marrone has received a letter from a lawyer for the Four Seasons warning him that he has breached the restaurant's trademark rights to the name in connection with food service. He was told he could face legal action if he does not make a switch.

The Fore Seasons in Short Hills overlooks the East Orange Municipal Golf Course and serves Italian-accented Continental cuisine. The Four Seasons, in case anyone is confused, is in midtown Manhattan and offers a pricey menu that changes with the seasons.
