David Martin scored off an offensive rebound with 3 seconds left Friday night to lift Fox Chapel (3-1, 1-0) to a 46-44 victory against visiting McKeesport (1-3, 0-1) in Section 2-AAAA. Martin finished with 11 points and 11 rebounds and helped hold McKeesport 7-foot center Zeke Marshall, an Akron recruit, scoreless.
Fox Chapel's Harrison Smith collected 16 points and six assists, and Alex Vargo had 12 points.
⢠Quaker Valley 55, Aliquippa 53
Nigel Gibson, who had 17 points, tied the score with 38 seconds left, and Casey Courneen hit two free throws 25 seconds later to lead Quaker Valley (4-0, 2-0) to a Section 6-AA victory against Aliquippa (1-2, 0-1).
Aliquippa failed to score on two subsequent possessions, with a turnover and a missed half-court shot by Jawan Gilliam.
⢠Oliver 75, Brashear 64
Dion Hollinger led four Oliver players with 10 or more points, recording 13 in a City League victory against Brashear (2-2, 1-1).
Tawayne Steele had 12 points, Sofion Moore 11 and Phil Ferguson 10.
John Wetzel scsored 27 points, and Henri Chatman added 20 for Brashear (3-2, 2-0), which trailed, 60-40, after three quarters.
