O’Hara municipal building expansion allows more room for police
A $438,000 project underway at the O’Hara municipal building will add space for the police department, a small conference room and second-floor storage.
Township Manager Julie Jakubec said the space is much-needed for the police force’s 14 officers and Chief Jim Farringer. A squad room and locker room will be added for officers.
Work at the building, 325 Fox Chapel Road, will add about 1,000 square feet.
“Some other items include reworking the current file room, relocation of the server room and an added plan and map room,” Jakubec said.
There also will be new flooring throughout the building.
Construction is focused in the rear of the building and is expected to last through March.
Lawrenceville-based architects Moshier Studio landed the contract. The group designed the McGinnis Education Center at Camp Guyasuta, also in O’Hara.
