UPMC St. Margaret to host free programs on cancer, diabetes
UPMC St. Margaret will host two free health programs, one that explores advances in cancer treatment and another related to diabetes.
The hospital will present a discussion on Sept. 12 about advances in chemotherapy and immunotherapy. Medical oncologist Peter Ellis will be the guest speaker at the event, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Participants will hear about treatment options, why they are used and how they target specific cancer types. Free health screenings will be offered, including blood pressure and bone density screenings.
A free hot dinner will be served and parking will be validated.
The presentation will be in the UPMC St. Margaret conference centers, 815 Freeport Road. Registration is requested at 1-866-939-7787.
A second event on Sept. 20 will address dental care for diabetics.

Participants will receive a free gift. Light refreshments will be served and parking will be validated.
